DC Man Found Dead After Going On “Plenty Of Fish” Date

Human remains found in Prince George’s County, Maryland, are those of Marty William McMillan Jr., the D.C. man reported missing after leaving home for a date with a woman he met on dating site, Plenty Of Fish, his family says.

McMillan Jr., 22, was last seen on April 22, 2017, on the 2900 block of M Street SE. The 22-year-old told his family he was going out with a woman he met on the dating website Plenty of Fish.

“His mom is going crazy. His grandma is going crazy. I definitely want to know exactly what happened or where my son is,” his father, Marty McMillan Sr., said shortly after his son’s disappearance.

McMillan had just started a new job, and his grandmother had just bought him a car.

D.C. police said Thursday — on what would have been McMillan’s 23rd birthday — that his remains were found and that he died of multiple gunshot wounds. A D.C. homicide investigation is underway.

Unidentified human remains were found Oct. 30 on the eastbound side of Suitland Parkway, between Interstate 495 and the ramp to the north gate of Joint Base Andrews.

It’s not the first time a Plenty Of Fish date has led to murder. In 2016, Florida man, Adam Hilarie, 27, was found dead after being robbed following a date with a woman he met on the popular free dating service.

Hailey Rose Bustos, 18, was arrested and charged in Hilarie’s violent death.

In August, 2016, Bustos brought three men with her to her date night with Hilarie, including two career criminals on probation for violent felonies. At least one of the men, police said, had a gun. When Hilarie responded to the knock on the door, the men overpowered him and dashed inside, police said.

“Hilarie was begging for his life, he was not putting up any kind of fight, and was telling them that he had a 5-year-old daughter,” according to arrest reports obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.

Hilarie was shot in the head and collapsed on the kitchen floor, Auburndale’s Deputy Police Chief Andy Ray told The Post.

As Hilarie bled out, Ray said, the suspects went downstairs, pulled their car to the front of the apartment and began stealing the dead man’s Xbox, iPhone and TVs — valuables Bustos had spotted the night before. source

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
