Chicago singer, Sakyrah Angelique, has come up with a novel way to remember her late grandmother by inking a tattoo that actually plays her voice.

Using a tattoo and some new technology, Angelique, can hear her late grandmother’s voice whenever she wants by pointing a cellphone camera at her tattoo and hitting play.

The crafty tattoo, located under Angelique’s left collar bone, is read by the Skin Motion app, which then plays the three-year old voicemail left by her now dearly departed grammy.

Angelique uploaded a video on social media Tuesday night showing her listening to grandma’s voicemail for the first time via her tattoo.

@sakyrahhh via Twitter:

“My grandma passed away my junior year of high school. A month before she passed, she left me a voicemail wishing me happy birthday. Today I got that exact waveform tattooed across my heart, and I am able to play it just by holding my camera over it”

The new technology enables users to upload audio files which can then be triggered by the unique tattoo soundwave.
