If you didn’t know what you were watching, you may have thought you had accidentally turned into a procession for a fallen dignitary or head of state, but an off-duty cop? Why not?
Certainly a man who spent his entire adult life protecting and serving a community deserves a send off fit for hero, however, some folks on social media are calling the procession for the San Bernardino Deputy into question, saying it was “excessive,” and a waste of taxpayer dollars.
36-year-veteran of the San Bernardino County sheriff’s office, Deputy Lawrence “Larry” Falce, died after being “violently attacked” following a traffic collision on New Year’s Eve, authorities said.
Falce, 70, succumbed to his injuries Tuesday night, according to a statement.
Last night, news helicopters hovered as the massive procession conducted for the fallen officer made it’s way to its destination.
Commenters flocked to our story honoring the fallen officer to share their opinions on the massive procession.
TruthBeTold Via TheCount.com: “Sad day for a man who dedicated his life to protecting others from violence and crime. He, however, was OFF duty, a private citizen when attacked… those who are authorizing this vast, unnecessary expenditure of tax dollars and public Resources to accompany/honor a dead body to the morgue, should be summarily relieved of duties. The affection and respect by his colleagues, coworkers, and other fire/police/sheriff depts. –while inspiring–should be occurring on their private time using their private resources. Once again, CA has shown the lack of financial responsibility, yet just begged for ‘needed’ federal Funds due to wild fire damage … could have been avoided or at least mitigated had CA been responsible fiduciary of citizens tax dollars rather than spending the BILLIONS of $$$ on illegal alien freebies.”
Patrick McGoff Via TheCount.com: “Your lack of empathy is noted. So is your callousness. To be so cold in your heart must be painful. CA wastes money on illegals and druggies and you clamor on about showing respect to a man that deserves every bit of ours? What a malignant mind you must have.”
