The Asheville Police Department is investigating multiple incidents at a skatepark over the weekend leading up to the death of Jonquise Lamont Freeman.
A 24-year-old Freeman, of Asheville, NC, was found dead Sunday after his family said his last known location was a concert at the River Arts District Skatepark the night before.
RAD Skatepark posted to Facebook on Saturday saying it would be closing early for a concert by Blac Youngsta.
Jonquise Lamont Freeman was found about 6 p.m. Sunday near the park in the 500 block of Lyman Street by his family members “checking the general area,” police said. He had been reported missing earlier that morning by his father.
Police said there were no obvious injuries to Freeman and an autopsy was scheduled Monday afternoon to determine the cause of death.
Police said the incidents remain under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Asheville Police Department at 828-252-1110.
