Greenville police say officers are investigating a homicide after Anthony Dean Vanderwood was found with traumatic injuries in his South Carolina home. He was 53.
Vanderwood, aka, Tony Vander Wood, was located dead after police officers responded to a house on Garraux Street Tuesday night to perform a welfare check.
Police said the death was ruled a suspicious homicide.
“The initial findings indicate that the victim appears to have suffered some type of trauma to his body,” said Officer Johnathan Bragg in a news release. After an autopsy, the coroner identified the victim as Vanderwood. Vanderwood suffered blunt force trauma to the head and was strangled, the coroner said. source
No other information was immediately available.
