Hours after congratulating Hampton Roads Regional Jail Chief Information Officer, Cliff Hayes, aka, C.E. “Cliff” Hayes Jr., for his win to retain his seat in Virginia’s 77th District, a jail employee was shot and is listed in critical with life threatening injuries.

The shooting occurred in the 600 block of Gloucester Drive Wednesday night. Dispatchers received the call at 9:31 p.m. When police arrived at the scene, they found the 39-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. source
