UPDATE: Police Picture Woman Wanted In O’Reilly Auto Parts Manager Fatal Shooting

UPDATE: Police have released the woman they arrested saying she was found not affiliated with the case. Now police have released the name and photos of the woman they say is the prime suspect in the murder.

Detroit police have released new pictures of the suspect wanted in connection with the murder of O’Reilly Auto Parts store manager James Haller Jr. She was been identified as 23-year-old Shawnta Sharee Anderson.

James Haller Jr., the 69-year-old manager of O’Reilly Auto Parts store on Schaefer near 6 Mile Road is dead after two women in their early 20s committed a robbery at the parts store in Detroit.

The shooter has been arrested, according to Detroit police. One female said to also be involved in the robbery is still at large. At this point, police are only saying that a 23-year-old woman is in custody. The getaway car, an older model burgundy Chevy Suburban, has not been recovered.

Police have been looking for the women since Wednesday evening, when they say they walked into the O’Reilly Auto Parts store on Schaefer near 6 Mile Road around 5:30 p.m. to execute a robbery. But police say they took more than cash — they took the life of the 69-year-old manager. Police did not say where the suspect was arrested and did not offer any additional information but say a statement will be released later Friday evening.

Investigators say the women were trying to clear out the cash register when the manager, James Haller Jr., heard the commotion and went to check it out. Police say the woman seen on surveillance video in maroon pants and a white tank top fired a single shot that stuck Haller in the head.source

A $12,500 reward was being offered for information that led to the arrest of the suspects.

O’Reilly Auto Parts has also said they will pay for Haller’s funeral.
