University of Utah SHOTS FIRED “Shelter In Place” Lockdown Issued

The University of Utah has issued a campus alert telling students and employees to “shelter in place” after a person was shot Monday night.

Few details about the incident were immediately available, but Salt Lake City police confirm they received a report of a man shot in the head in an area near Red Butte Canyon.

The school subsequently sent out an alert to students and employees saying: “Shots fired. Red Butte Canyon. Shelter in place.” source
