The family of Corey Rabb, the 20-year-old SC man killed while pushing his disabled Nissan Sentra across Greer Bridge Friday, is asking for donations to help with the young man’s funeral expenses.
Authorities said Rabb, of Fairview Lake Way in Simpsonville, was pushing a disabled 1994 Sentra across the bridge on SC-80 when it was hit from behind by the driver of a 2013 Toyota Corolla. The coroner pronounced him dead at the scene at 8:30 p.m.
Rabb, who was the person pushing the car, was killed instantly in the crash. Police said a second person, believed to be steering the broken down vehicle, was transported to Spartanburg Regional with unknown injuries. That person has not yet been named.
The coroner said the crash occurred at the intersection of J. Vern Smith Parkway (SC-80) and East Poinsett Street Extension. source
The crash remains under investigation.
Friends and family members took to social media to remember the young man. Family members are asking for donations via GoFundMe. At last check, the funeral fund had raised about half of the $5,000 goal.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
