Latish White or of Alexandria, Louisiana, has been named as the body found near the Pineville Expressway early Wednesday morning, say Pineville Police. She was 42.
Police said they responded to a call around 3 a.m. to reports of a woman’s body at the end of Melrose Street. The deceased victim, later identified as White, appeared to have suffered multiple stab wounds.
Officers blocked off the roads surrounding Melrose, placing evidence markers along the street, and speaking to residents in the neighborhood. “We started talking to different people in the neighborhood, up to this point we haven’t gotten anything from anybody that anybody’s heard or seen anything,” said Darrell Basco, Deputy Chief of Pineville Police. “Sure, quiet area,” Basco replied. “No problems. Local businesses that we’ve talked to said it’s odd for them to show up this morning and can’t get to their business because something happened.” source
A cause of death will be determined once an autopsy is conducted by the coroner.
Friends and family members took to social media to remember White:
