Missing firefighter, Lt. Jeff Leininger, was found dead in Butler County.
Leininger, who had been missing since Wednesday, was located dead inside his vehicle which was parked in the Kroger parking lot on Heritage Green Drive Friday afternoon.
Springfield Township Chief Robert Leininger confirmed the sad news saying that Lt. Leininger’s body was found inside the truck.
He was last seen Wednesday morning at his Springdale home. A cause of death has not been released.
Thursday, Springdale Police said they were concerned he may hurt himself. His wife called Springdale Police after finding a note from him and two guns missing, Chief Leininger said. “He’s been a very valued member of our community, been a very valued member of our department and we don’t really care about the circumstances, we just want Jeff to come home,” said Township Administrator Mike Hinnenkamp. source
