The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office found a dead person in a Silver Springs, Nev., residence and went to another residence to notify the next of kin, that’s when they found two more people dead.
Three people total were found dead at two different residential crime scenes Saturday night in Silver Springs, according to a statement from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. The Nevada town of Silver Springs is located just outside of Reno. It has a population of about 5,500.
Spokesman Michael Carlson said deputies responded just after 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, to a medical call in the 2800 block of Tonopah Avenue.
Deputies arrived, and a 46-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Carlson said in the statement. Authorities investigated and learned she had local family. Deputies responded to their home in the 3000 block of E. Third Street to make a next-of-kin notification. When they arrived at the home, deputies found two more people dead, according to Carlson. source
An investigation is underway to determine if the two incidents are connected, with detectives conducting interviews to gather more information.
No other details are being released, including identities, as efforts to notify next-of-kin are still ongoing, according to the sheriff’s office.
