Gary Weir, the actor who portrayed beloved Arkansas children’s TV character, Bozo The Clown, has passed away. He was 75.
Weir worked as Bozo from 1966 into the late 1980s at KATV-TV, KARK-TV, KAIT-TV and KLRT-TV in Little Rock.
The clown who brought joy to the lives of countless Arkansas children in the 1960s through the 80s as Bozo the Clown has died, confirms Oaklawn Park.
Weir entertained kids in the KATV studio while clad in his trademark red nose and red hair for 25 years. Born in Russellville, he first made his name as a DJ in North Little Rock before entering television as an announcer at KATV. source
He most recently worked as a horse racing handicapper in Hot Springs.
