After spending a few weeks in hospice care, North Davidson’s beloved head coach, Mike Lambros, who coached the team to two fast pitch softball championships, has passed away.
Lambros spent an impressive 38 years helming the North Davidson Lady Knights.
Lambros died at his home in Davidson County after battling stage-four pancreatic cancer for over a year.

Tucson, AZ., KOLD-TV is mourning the death of a disabled employee who was killed near East Speedway and Pantano Square after being hit by a school bus.
Earlier reports said Tucson police had closed the intersection of Columbus and Fort Lowell Friday morning after Kimberly Ebersbacher, 43, died in a car wreck, however, it is now emerging that Ebersbacher died while traveling on the sidewalk in her wheelchair when a bus hit her near East Speedway Boulevard and Pantano Square, Tucson, AZ.

A Canadian woman who once boasted about her new edgy eyeball tattoo, has now posted graphic images of the same eye oozing a sickly purple dye. Catt Gallinger says a risky tattoo on her eyeball may now leave her partially blind.
Gallinger, 24, a body modification enthusiast from Ottawa, is trying to warn others of the dangers of getting a “scleral tattoo,” which consists of injecting ink into the white part of the eyeball.
Gallinger, who has a forked tongue, piercings and tattoos, has undergone painful procedures before, but she wrote on Facebook that immediately after the tattoo was done on Sep. 5, purple dye began streaming down her face, and her eye was swollen shut the next day. “I took my eyesight for granted and trusted someone I shouldn’t have,” she said in a video posted Monday. “And even if this heals, my eyesight is not going to be back.” Gallinger told Global News that she knows multiple people who have tattooed scleras and haven’t had an issue, but she says the person who did hers was unqualified and pushed her to do it until she “gave in.” Continue reading
Authorities have arrested an Indiana man on an assault and battery warrant for allegedly punching a man and woman who were demonstrating against last month’s white nationalist protest in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Jennings County Sheriff Gary Driver says 37-year-old Dennis L. Mothersbaugh, of Vernon in southern Indiana, was arrested Thursday. He is being held in the Jennings County Jail pending extradition to Charlottesville.
The (Columbus) Republic reports that Virginia authorities issued the warrant for Mothersbaugh after cellphone video surfaced on social media showing him marching with white supremacists and punching a man and a woman protesting against them. Mothersbaugh is accused of being with a group demonstrating against the scheduled removal of a Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee statue from a Charlottesville park. Continue reading
Eufaula police have identified a body found near a lake on Wednesday night as Damion Martin, the Oklahoma who went missing after winning at a casino, according to Facebook.
A woman on Facebook, claiming to be a relative of Martin, said the body found was the same man who went missing after winning big at a local casino.
Family members said Martin had been missing for almost two weeks. The body was found near a lake. The family said they called police and then drove to the Sherwood Forrest neighborhood to see what police could tell them. Continue reading
Arkansas woman, Veronica Blake, has turned herself after being accused of raping nine different children.
Deputies investigating the case learned that a total of nine children were victimized after Cross County Sheriff’s Office said it received a report that Veronica Blake sexually assaulted three children since July 2017.
The ages of the children have not been released. It’s only known that they are under 18.
Blake is charged with multiple counts of rape, computer or child pornography, and sexual indecency with a minor. Continue reading
Two police officers and another person were injured following an officer-involved shooting in Willoughby Hills.
Officials say officers were called to the Classic BMW dealership on Som Center Road around 2 p.m.
Shortly after police arrived at the scene witnesses reported hearing gunshots.

17 years ago, Shelia Warren dressed as a clown and fatally shot Marlene Warren, her now-husband’s wife. After shooting the Wellington woman dead, she would go on to marry the dead woman’s husband.
In the summer of 1990, Shelia Warren, then 26-year-old Sheila Keen, dressed as a clown and traveled to Marlene Warren’s South Florida home. Holding balloons, Keen knocked on the front door. The victim answered and commented, “how nice,” before Keen released the balloons, produced a firearm and shot her in the face.
One balloon read, “You’re The Greatest,” the other was a Snow White balloon, said the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Thursday.
The clown calmly left the scene in a white Chrysler LeBaron.
Marlene Warren died at a local hospital two days later as a result of her injuries. Continue reading
Shreveport Police have arrested Clydetra Thomas and accused her of putting children in her care in danger on multiple occasions.
In July 2017, police say two toddlers were found wandering in the intersection of Hollywood Avenue and West Canal Boulevard in Shreveport. Officers made contact with the children’s guardian, Thomas, 25, and arrested her on allegations of child desertion.
After Thomas’s initial arrest, the Department of Children and Family Services removed four children from the home.
Shreveport, LA., police have identified Roy Narcisse and Kiana Williams, as the couple they are seeking in the stabbing death of an elderly woman. The pair face second-degree murder charges.
Narcisse and Williams, both 25, are accused of murdering 82-year-old Kathleen Cates and stealing her car. Narcissee is from Alexandria and Williams is from Ville Platte.
Both suspects have known addresses and associates in central and south Louisiana. The victim’s car has not yet been recovered.
