Tucson, AZ., KOLD-TV is mourning the death of a disabled employee who was killed near East Speedway and Pantano Square after being hit by a school bus.
Earlier reports said Tucson police had closed the intersection of Columbus and Fort Lowell Friday morning after Kimberly Ebersbacher, 43, died in a car wreck, however, it is now emerging that Ebersbacher died while traveling on the sidewalk in her wheelchair when a bus hit her near East Speedway Boulevard and Pantano Square, Tucson, AZ.
Details are scant as to what caused the fatality.
According to Ebersbacher’s Facebook page, she works at KOLD-TV.
KOLD-TV, virtual channel 13 (UHF digital channel 32), is a CBS-affiliated television station located in Tucson, Arizona, United States.
According to Amanda Soza on Facebook, who commented on our story, Ebersbacher did not die in a car crash on Columbus at Fort Lowell, she died on the sidewalk when a bus hit her on Speedway and Pantano.
Another commenter said she was killed by a school bus when the driver passed out and veered onto the sidewalk.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
