Shreveport Police have arrested Clydetra Thomas and accused her of putting children in her care in danger on multiple occasions.
In July 2017, police say two toddlers were found wandering in the intersection of Hollywood Avenue and West Canal Boulevard in Shreveport. Officers made contact with the children’s guardian, Thomas, 25, and arrested her on allegations of child desertion.
After Thomas’s initial arrest, the Department of Children and Family Services removed four children from the home.
On September 17, 2017, DCFS contacted Shreveport Police Youth Service Investigators and advised them that all four children tested positive for very high levels of cocaine. source
Investigators launched their investigation resulting in four warrants for Thomas’s arrest charging her with four counts of cruelty to a juvenile.
Thomas was taken into custody on September 26, 2017 and booked into the Shreveport City Jail. The warrants were no bond warrants.
