Authorities have arrested Andrew MacCormack on suspicion of murdering his wife, second-grade teacher, Vanessa MacCormack, who was found dead on Saturday.

MacCormack was arrested Tuesday at Revere Police Headquarters on the charge of murder, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley’s office said. Vanessa suffered blunt force injury to the head, sharp force injuries to the neck and asphyxiation, the DA’s office said.

“The evidence suggests that her murder was a crime of domestic violence, committed in the very place where she should have been safest – her own home,” Conley said.

The arrest followed a review of surveillance camera footage, interviews with witnesses and a search warrant, the DA’s office said.

Revere police responded to the home at 93 Grand View Ave. at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday after Andrew MacCormack called 911. They found Vanessa MacCormack, 30, inside with “obvious signs of physical trauma.” source

Vanessa MacCormack was a second-grade teacher at William P. Connery Elementary School.

“Vanessa taught at Connery for five years and was in this district for seven years,” the principal said in a statement. “She was a talented, dedicated and passionate educator and a loyal, kind and compassionate friend and colleague.”

Vanessa MacCormack was the mother of a 1-year-old girl.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
