The Iowa County Sheriff’s Dispatch named Mariana Lesnic, as the woman accused of an early morning shooting at a rest stop on I-80 in Iowa County on Thursday, September 6.
Lesnic, 43, of New York, New York, was arrested after truck driver, Earnest Kummer, 60, was found slumped over in his semi at the rest stop on I-80 near Victor. Deputies say, Kummer of Monroe, Iowa, died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Lesnic was taken into custody and charged with Kummer’s murder in the First Degree. She is being held in the Iowa County Jail on a $1,000,000 cash only bond. source
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating the case.
TheCount.com located a Facebook page belonging to a Mariana Lesnic. The woman on Facebook appears to be the same Mariana Lesnic apprehended by police in the murder of Kummer. The social media page, which was last updated in 2013, says Lesnic was from Colorado Springs, Colorado, but now lives in New York, New York. The page also says she worked at Benefit Cosmetics, studied at North Lake College and went to Lakewood High School.
