Local Indiana boxer, Andrew Rodger, has been named as the man seriously injured in a shooting in West Garfield, TheCount.com has learned.
Police confirmed two people were shot Wednesday night in Elkhart, Indiana, one of those is Rodger, 25, who is listed in serious condition a South Bend hospital.
Just after 8:30 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of West Garfield where they found a person who had been shot. On Thursday morning, police identified him as 25-year-old Andrew Rodger of Elkhart. He was taken to a South Bend hospital in serious condition. Another victim, now identified as 39-year-old Kory Williams of Elkhart, later walked into an Elkhart hospital with non-life threatening injuries. source
Roger’s family member took to Facebook to say the pugilist had successfully made it though surgery.
Police say they’re still looking for a suspect. They believe this was a targeted incident, not a random act.
