UPDATE: The Crook County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday the sisters are safe, sound and they contacted their parents as soon as they “had cell phone service.” They are on their way back to South Lake Tahoe. Original story: Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a pair of Lake Tahoe sisters who went missing after attending a large eclipse festival in central Oregon.

Melissa Lea, 18, and her younger sister, have not checked in with their relatives since Sunday. Deputies say Melissa last used her debit card at the 35,000-person Symbiosis festival in the Ochoco National Forest near Prineville on Tuesday.

The name and age of the younger sister wasn’t immediately available.

Their parents contacted authorities after not hearing from their daughters for several days. source
