Cedar Rapids police say a man entered the Cedar Rapids City Public Works Department Streets Division building located at 1201 6th St SW at 10:38 a.m. with a shotgun.
At this time they believe he intends to harm himself, not any employees, say authorities.
The police believe a majority of the employees have been evacuated from the building.
Law enforcement from around the county is responding.
