Jon North, a band director and teacher at Lake Minneola High, in Lake County, FL., has been arrested after admitting to having a sexual relationship with a male student, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities said they arrested North, 32, on five counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor. The encounters with the student usually took place in the school’s band room closet.
“He admitted to the relationship,” Sgt. Jim Vichon, of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, said.
The victim told school officials that he had begun texting North he began texting with North in late 2015 when the relationship suddenly progressed to hugging and kissing.
The victim, a juvenile male between 16 and 18 told the principal he had a sexual relationship with the teacher from November or December 2015 to May 2016.
Now deputies are working to find out if any other teens were involved.
“If anybody has any information or they are a victim, please contact us,” Vichon said.
A court hearing has been set in the case for next month. source
