Raymond Faville, a popular chef and owner of Essex eatery, Chez Lin & Rays, drowned in Lake Champlain. An autopsy determined the chef was intoxicated at the time of his death.
Faville, 60, was found by rescuers Monday by the Essex Marina.

Linda Faville, wife and restaurant co-owner, last saw him alive on the couple’s live-in boat at 11:30 p.m. Sunday night.
New York State Police rescue teams pulled his body out of about 10 feet of water at 1 p.m. Faville lived in Rutland, Vermont, most of the year and in Essex, New York, during the summer and fall. source
The coroner determined Faville’s death was a drowning.
Faville was intoxicated when he fell into the lake and was unable to get out.
Faville’s death was ruled accidental.
Chez Lin & Rays opened in June of 2013.
Last week, a teen swimmer was pulled lifeless from Lake Champlain. He was identified as 17-year-old Christian Kibabu, of Burlington.
Rescuers found Kibabu in an area off Oakledge Park in Burlington.
