TX Woman Injured By RAZOR BLADE Found Attached To Shopping Cart

A Houston woman was injured by a utility blade that was discovered attached to her shopping cart. Thankfully, the blade only caused a minor injury to a female shopper at the Ravenwood Village shopping center in Huntsville, Texas.

The scary incident comes days after razor blades were found melted into two area park slides, according to Huntsville police. It was not revealed how the latest object was affixed to the shopping cart.

Authorities are working with Ravenwood Village staff members to scour surveillance footage in an effort to spot a suspect.

Huntsville police advised all local retailers to check carts for foreign objects and to do so regularly. Just last week officials told childcare centers to check their playground equipment for abnormalities.

“We are asking for the community’s assistance. Citizens have been instrumental in catching these kinds of criminals in the past,” said Huntsville police Chief Kevin Lunsford. “We are concerned about the safety of our residents.”

In Summer 2015, a customer at a Dawson N.D. WalMart found a long razor blade embedded in the handle of her shopping cart.

The woman’s son noticed something strange and alerted his mother. “Mom, there’s something metal poking out of the handle,’” recounted Lisa Zimmerman, who then discovered a long razor blade, (pictured above,) embedded onto the handle. The young boy’s height allowed him to spot the offending object whereas it was out of the view of his taller mother.

Zimmerman said that she was just about to wipe the handle with a sanitizing cloth when her boy called out.

On July 6, 2017, city crews found four razor blades on two slides at Emancipation and Boettcher Mill Road parks.

It is not known if the latest incident and the July 6th incident are in any way connected.

The injured woman’s identity has not been released.

Authorities say they are actively investigating both incidents and urge anyone with any information related to the crimes to contact police immediately.
