WATCH: Florida Homeowner Fights Off Shotgun Wielding Robbers With Machete

A Sarasota Florida homeowner averted an armed robbery on his property after confronting armed robbers with a machete. Even though the homeowner brought a knife to a gunfight, he somehow overpowered the would-be crooks and detained them until law enforcement officers arrived.

Surveillance video shows three men toting shotguns drawing on a group of people. The homeowner goes out of the frame for a few moments and then reappears bum rushing the perps while wildly swinging the machete.

Deputies said the other two men left and were found a short time later at a gas station with two other men. One of the men was carrying several zip ties, deputies said. Detectives said two of the men admitted to committing the robbery. The Sheriff’s Office said the two men not seen in the surveillance video helped to coordinate the robbery. h/t click2houston

All five suspects — Alen Beltran-Vasquez, Ronier Jauregui-Lorente, Angel Cabrera-Basulto, Jorge Valido-Leyva and Roberto Salcedo-Balanza — were arrested and remain in the Sarasota County Jail without bail.
