Stephan Shove, the man killed by his wife, Melanie Shove, after she fired a shot through a bathroom door, striking him in the back, was a Sergeant at Pickens County Prison Prison & Correctional Facility as well as a former Sergeant First Class of the United States Army.
Pickens County deputies responded to a call of shots fired at a home on Ike Road in Six Mile Tuesday at around midnight. When they arrived they found Stephan Shove dead of a single gunshot wound to his back.
Shove shared his home with his wife, Melanie Shove, and their adult son.
The couple had been in an argument when Melanie Shove armed herself with a .380-caliber pistol and climbed into a bathtub and fired a shot into the wall, according to the arrest warrants. The warrant said when Stephan Shove later went into the bathroom, Melanie Shove still had the gun and she was sitting in the tub. As Stephan Shove left the bathroom, closing the door behind him, Melanie Shove fired the shot through the door that struck her husband, deputies said. h/t wyff
