Chattanooga, TN., waitress Jekievea Monchell Yearby, was arrested and now faces drug-related charges after authorities say she mistakenly dropped a small bag of cocaine into a soft drink she had served to an off-duty police officer.
Yearby was charged with assault, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia while working at the Steak & Shake restaurant at 5118 Hixson Pike.
Off-duty Chattanooga Police officer Ricky Wolfe told arriving officers that he discovered a small baggie of cocaine in his drink. After reviewing surveillance footage, Yearby was observed accidentally dropping the baggie of drugs into Officer Wolfe’s drink.
Records show Yearby admitted to officers the wayward cocaine was hers, and that she had another baggie in her bra. She was also in possession of a small straw that tested positive for cocaine residue.
A Steak & Shake manager promptly fired Yearby after the incident.
