Boston Native SPC Etienne Murphy Killed In Syria Posthumously Awarded

SPC Etienne Murphy, a Boston native, was killed Friday during a rollover crash in northern Syria.

Murphy, 22, was serving his first deployment as an infantryman with the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment out of Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia.

Reports say, Murphy was driving a non-tactical vehicle when it rolled over, killing him.

Murphy was posthumously awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
