Justin O’neil Penn Charged With MURDER Of Teen In Crash Also Arrested In 2016

Justin O’neil Penn, the man from Alabama who has been charged with murder and kidnapping of 19-year-old female, Shemeria Smith, was also arrested in 2016 on multiple charges.

FROM 2016: Four Montgomery teenagers are in jail after being stopped in Coweta County with a car full of stolen merchandise. On Friday, Deputy Jack Hollis stopped a vehicle on exit 51 for not having a license plate. While talking to the driver of the car, Hollis detected the odor of marijuana, according to Lt. Col. James Yarbrough with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, Justin O’Neil Penn, said the car was his vehicle but the insurance was canceled.

During a search of the vehicle, Hollis discovered a backpack containing a Ruger 9mm handgun. A television, three PlayStation gaming systems, two laptops, several PlayStation games and a Gucci handbag were also found inside the car, according to Yarbrough. Penn, 19, was charged with operating a vehicle without registration/valid tag, no proof of insurance, theft by receiving stolen property, theft by receiving property stolen in another state and theft by bringing stolen property into a state. h/t

In Penn’s latest offence, he is charged with murder and kidnapping. Police spokesperson Krystal Dotson says Penn was taken to the hospital shortly after the crash, but online records show he was booked at the J Reuben Long Detention Center six hours after emergency crews were called to the crash.

Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard says 19-year-old Shemeria Smith died in the hospital Wednesday morning after the crash on Tuesday, May 18, at 2:30 p.m. on Highway 22 at mile marker 10. Smith was a passenger in the car and had recently moved to the Myrtle Beach area from Alabama. Justin O’Neil Penn, Denardius Cornelius Washington, Christopher Lamar Barnes and Jakorei Jaquontez Davis were all arrested in Coweta County in 2016.
