Coffee lovers nationwide were left dry after Starbucks reported a system-wide computer outage Tuesday morning.
It is believed the popular coffee chain was stricken with the “wannacry” malware.

The system that allows the coffee chain to take payments was down, leaving many coffee lovers without their morning joe.
Starbucks users nationwide tweeted about the outages, noting some Starbucks were giving customers a free tall drink of their choice or offering free brewed coffee, while others were closed.
So did somebody at Starbucks open an email attachment that they shouldn’t have? All the ones in the city are down due to system outages.
Baristas in some locations told customers that the company had been the victim of a possible cyber attack – though the coffee giant did not confirm and remained mum on the outage on social media. The outage appeared to be contained to some stores in the United States and Canada.
