LOCKDOWN After Shots Fired Near University Of Sioux Falls, Sanford Health

VIA Sioux Falls Police are on scene, investigating a report of shots fired near the University Of Sioux Falls and Sanford Health. An argument occurred that resulted in shots fired in central Sioux Falls, law enforcement said.

Menlo Ave is closed by Sioux Falls Police as they look for shell casings near the campus of University of Sioux Falls.

Sanford Health’s campus is also on lockdown due to the ongoing police activity in the neighborhood.

A hospital spokesperson tells KELOLAND News that means people are screened as they enter the hospital. They’re also advising people on the health campus to stay in the hospital during the lockdown.

A police dog is on the scene searching as well.
