Actor Richard Hatch, who played Captain Apollo in Battlestar Galactica television series, has passed away. He was 71. Hatch had a hard fought battle with stage-4 pancreatic cancer.
Hatch’s family announced the sad news on his official website. He is survived by his son, Paul, and brother, John. In 1978 his starring role in Battlestar Galactica brought him worldwide recognition as well as a Golden Globe nomination.

Paul Hatch, on behalf of the Hatch family and friends, is sad to confirm the passing of his beloved father Richard Lawrence Hatch, who passed away in Los Angeles, California this afternoon.
