Matt Drudge, owner of popular news aggregator Drudge Report, is asking if US intel agencies are blackmailing President-elect Donald Trump with dirt tagged to ‘Russian’ operatives.
Drudge wrote the tweet on January 10, just after BuzzFeed was widely criticized for publishing a “fake news” story that drew a connection between Trump’s victory and said Russian operatives.
“Are corrupt US intel agencies blackmailing Trump with their own dirt cleverly tagged to ‘Russian’ operatives?” Drudge said in the tweet.
Buzzfeed published a letter purportedly penned by a retired British intelligence agent, who detailed Trump’s “relationship with Russia” while saying the Kremlin has been “cultivating, supporting and assisting” Trump for at least “five years.”
