Two people were injured, one critically, after a hobby rocket explosion went wrong in Thousand Oaks Monday.
According to Ventura County, an experiment involving a hobby rocket taking place on the basketball courts at Madrona Elementary School, ended with a powerful explosion that sent one man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
One person was transported in critical condition with life-threatening injuries and another was in minor condition, Capt. Mike Lindbery of VCFD said on his Twitter page. Lindbery said a nurse was at the scene and was able to start treatment immediately.
The identities of the injured were not immediately available. Ventura County sheriff’s officials were investigating the incident.
