The Hip-hop community is mourning the death of the legendary NYC DJ Big Kap. DJ Funkmaster Flex confirmed his death on social media. Big Kap was 45.
Kap, whose real name was Keith Carter, was a fixture on the New York music scene. Details on cause of death were not immediately released.
In 1999, Funkmaster Flex and DJ Big Kap dropped their acclaimed compilation album, The Tunnel, which featured everyone from Tupac and Biggie, to Jay Z and the Ruff Ryders.
