A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck near posh Newport Beach, California at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday.and was felt in Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Fountain Valley and Anaheim.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake hit one mile east of Newport Beach, four miles southwest of Irvine and six miles east-southeast of Huntington Beach.
