President Obama is not going to Alaska to exclusively rename a mountain or to stump on climate change, he is visiting the 49th state to appear on an upcoming episode of “Running Wild with Bear Grylls.”
According to NBC, the president “will meet with Grylls while visiting Alaska to observe the effects of climate change on the area,” but rumor has it, the meeting will be filmed for a future broadcast of the popular celebrity survival show.
Grylls and Obama will join forces to trek through the Alaskan wilderness as the president receives a “crash course in survival techniques” from Grylls for a special episode of “Running Wild,” scheduled to air later this year. The White House confirmed the announcement, adding that filming for the episode will take place Tuesday on Exit Glacier in Alaska’s Kenai Mountains. h/t thehill
