Vicki Gardner, the lone survivor of a fatal ambush on a Virgina TV news crew, is speaking out for the first time after being brought out of a medically induced coma.
Speaking through her husband, Gardner said she was shot at three time and successfully dodged two of the killer’s bullets before hitting the deck. Vester Lee Flanagan then shot a final bullet into her back as she lay in the fetal position. Gardner said Flanagan’s gun then malfunctioned, making several more clicking sounds, indicating he was out of bullets.
Amazingly, Gardner was able to stand up and walk towards arriving EMS.
Gardner is expected to make a full recovery.
