A Rockford Ill., father was arrested after being caught on cellphone video trying to mow down a group of elementary school students in his SUV.
That video shows Roy Williams, 56, driving an SUV onto the sidewalk and toward the group of kids. The children in his deadly path narrowly escaped.
“I just knew we had to get out of the way before he hit one of us,” Nathan Velez, a 15 year old who shot the video, said. “When I first saw him pull out the bat I knew it was going to go somewhere, I knew he was trying to injure somebody,” he said. h/t fox4kc
Officers say this all started with a fight Wednesday night involving Williams daughter outside their Elementary School. Police say he then got in his SUV and pursued the teens.
Williams faces 12 counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle, aggravated assault of public property, reckless driving, and reckless conduct.
