Mike Porcaro, Toto’s original bassist, died Sunday after a long fought battle with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis aka ALS.
Steve Porcaro, Mike’s brother and bandmate confirmed the sad news on his Facebook page. Mike passed away in his sleep and was surrounded by family.
Mike played on the band’s iconic hits, “Rosanna,” “Africa,” and “I Won’t Hold You Back,” but retired back in 2007 due to his illness.
He was 59.
