Houston County, AL., singer Terry Davis, a past member of gospel group, The Florida Boys, died in an accident on Saturday.
Davis crashed his vehicle after suffering an unknown medical event.
His car ran off of the roadway and crashed into a nearby house around 8:30 Saturday night. In the early 1980’s Davis sang tenor with the gospel quartet, The Florida Boys. According to Davis’ bio on GospelGigs.com, the group’s hit single “When He Was On The Cross, I Was On His Mind,” stayed on the charts for 18 months, and captured song of the year for two straight years. h/t ktvy
More recently, Davis worked as a transitional counselor for a prison in Graceville, Florida. He lived in Dothan with his wife, Cindy Davis. Alabama State Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
