Law enforcement is confirming that 2010 MLB first round pick, Angels, Ryan Bolden was killed Wednesday.
Bolden was 23 years old.
Bolden was the victim of an incident at an apartment complex. Children were fighting over candy at the complex when adults got involved. The incident turned violent around 8:30pm when shots were fired. The Los Angeles Angels selected Bolden with the 40th overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft. The outfielder was an Ole Miss signee, but elected to go pro. He hit .347 with 8 home runs and 30 RBI as Madison Central won the 2010 6A State Championship. h/t msnewsnow
Bolden played four seasons of professional baseball, all with the Angels organization. He had 2 HRs, 35 RBI, and 21 steals in the Arizona League. Bolden played 7 games with the Orem Owlz in the Pioneer League in 2013. After that stint, he left the organization due to back problems.
