Rose Marie Sutton, an Iowa woman with hepatitis, was arrested after ripping out her IV and spraying blood in a nurse’s face.

Sutton, 57, was being treated in the emergency room at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics Monday afternoon, when she demanded more narcotics.

After being denied more meds, Sutton became belligerent and told the nurse she was leaving.

The nurse instructed her not to take out the IV because that area on Sutton’s body would need to be covered over the hepatitis and that’s when Sutton ripped out her IV and intentionally got blood on the nurse’s face and clothing.

She was charged with assault on persons engaged with certain occupations, a serious misdemeanor that includes health care workers.
