Kriste Lewis is the 40-year-old mother of two who made the squad of cheerleaders for the New Orleans Saints! Did we mention she has a debilitating kidney disease that will ultimately require dialysis and a kidney transplant?
Cheers to the New Orleans Saints for pushing this one through!
Her diagnosis inspired Lewis to make the most of every day, because “I know my time is limited,” she says. So, with her doctor’s permission, she set a goal: Try out for the Saintsations. “Honestly, I really did not think I was going to make” the cut, she tells the AP. source
But, the squad’s director tells the Sun-Herald, “it was a unanimous decision to put her on the team. … When she needed to blend with the others, she did, and when she needed to stand out, she did.”
