It pays to be a good step-dad! Proof positive, Kristin Russell, the step-daughter, spent two years searching for the perfect gift for her stepfather: the 1973 Porsche 914 he never got to buy himself.
The step-dad, Dave, planned on restoring his dream car, a rusted-out 914 2.0L, but instead used the money on his wedding to Kristin’s mom.
Dave is an amazing step-dad who helped to raise her, Kristin said, so she wanted to “do something nice for a guy who has always done absolutely anything he could for me.” What did it take to pull this off? Kristin researched until she found a car identical to his old one in Arizona, sent the car to Dave’s home in Pennsylvania and had it fixed up, traveled from her home in California, and delivered the dream gift. source
Dave, of course, was deeply moved (and excited) by the gesture. Thankfully Kristin recorded his reaction. Get ready for some happy tears.
