A stolen Tesla involved in a high-speed police chase in trendy West Hollywood, Ca., became airborne, crashed and then split in two, half of the vehicle becoming wedged between two apartment buildings. A Honda carrying five people in the 1200 block of N. La Brea Avenue was also involved in the crash.
The driver was ejected and remains in critical condition. Six others were also injured, their condition is still unknown.
Several other people are injured. La Brea Avenue is shut down at Lexington Avenue. The chase began around 12:30 a.m. According to LAPD, the Tesla was stolen from a dealership lot. Officers pursued the vehicle but a cruiser crashed, ending the chase. source
The Tesla continued for 7 miles into West Hollywood. Police believe the Tesla was travelling at a high rate of speed when it began hitting other vehicles. The car became airborne, took out a light pole and split in two.
