While performing on Fox and Friends, Chris Daughtry was asked to sing a patriotic encore song in honor of our D-Day vets, but the ‘I’m Going Home” singer scoffed, saying he was “off the clock” and that it was a “good time to bail.”
After social media chastised the singer over his refusal to participate in the honoring our troops by singing an acapella rendition of “My Country Tis Of Thee,” he took to Youtube to issue some damage control in the form of an apology.

They shouldn’t have said “What patriotic song should we all sing”. That was a bit odd and awkward imo. They made that situation awkward. Yes Daughtry could have handled it better but in situations like that when things have been said the best thing to do is get out of there.
I don’t think he could have handled it ANY better. He did exactly what he ought to have done.
No big deal. If they wanted Chris to do something after the band had departed, they should have addressed it before the show. Chris has delivered a heart-felt apology on Facebook, which is way more than most people would have done. This was an awkward situation, but knowing Chris Daughtry, he meant no disrespect.
