Legoland California, located in beautiful San Diego was evacuated about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday due to power outages related to the fires burning in surrounding Carlsbad.
Spokeswoman Julie Estrada said guests were gone within an hour and given passes for a return visit.
“We’re keeping in touch with the Carlsbad Fire Department to know about the safety of our guests and make sure they don’t need extra power for the park to fight the fires nearby,” Estrada said. source
Electricity returned shortly after the evacuation order but Estrada said the “sporadic” availability of power to the park’s 60 rides and attractions necessitated the park’s closure.
The nearby Sealife Aquarium and Legoland Hotel were not closed.
