Mayim Bialik: I Plan To Breastfeed My Child Until Age 4

The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik, a pro-breastfeeding advocate, says she plans on breastfeeding her son until the age of 4.

Every good, caring mother does what’s best for her children but is keeping a kid on the teat until 4 really healthy?

In an interview with In Touch Weekly, Mayim said that she was rather hurt from all the “laughing and sneering” that came her way after she decided to self-wean her youngest son Fred.

“Just because you do something your way doesn’t mean you can judge people who don’t,” Mayim said in her interview, “If I breastfeed and you don’t, it’s OK. I don’t think I’m a better mom and my kids aren’t necessarily better off than yours.” source

Mayim added: “The way that I parent is the way thousands of women parent all over the world, but I get flak for it. People say really mean things!”
