Tina Louise AKA Ginger Says Gilligan’s Island Professor ‘Will Be Missed’

Tina Louise, a.k.a. Ginger, the movie star, on Gilligan’s Island, is sending best wishes to the family of Russell Johnson, who played The Professor.

Russell died on Thursday of liver failure at the age of 89.

In a statement to RumorFix, Tina says, “I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Russell Johnson. My prayers and condolences go out to his wife Constance and his family. He will always be in our hearts and remembered as part of American pop culture history as “Gilligan’s Island” lives on through ME TV and TV Land. He will be missed.”

Earlier in the day, Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann on the ’60s classic, posted on her Facebook profile, “ My heart is broken.”
